A far-left party in Germany has erected a controversial statue of communist leader Vladimir Lenin.
City authorities had attempted to stop the statue being installed and launched an online hashtag saying there was"no place for Lenin".Lenin was a leader of the 1917 Russian Revolution and led the country until his death in 1924, when he was succeeded by Josef Stalin. However, he has remained a symbol of communism rule across the world, both among supporters and those who remember the human rights abuses that took place under the USSR.
"We live in a time in which many countries of the world are reflecting on memorials," said mayor Frank Baranowski in one of a series of YouTube videos posted by the city council against the statue.
From one extreme to the other your all slaves!
Germany organised Lenin's return to Russia with the idea of knocking Russia out of WW1, which it did, & was also responsible for the Russian Royal Family being slaughtered, which actually delighted the German Kaiser, what a nice tribute Germany to a mass murderer
Are the BBC real they’re now running a show in support of the BLM showing straight after their story about the tragic murders in Reading. They just don’t see it and believe that they should keep pumping out this shit to keep their lefty narrative going.Unbelievable!
Tear the bloody thing down
tear it down and throw it in the river ?
Why is the the bbc poking its nose in Germany's statues .. race stirring again ,,,
The BBC who clearly sympathise with Marxist ideology, choose to make no mention of the Red Terror, describing only the statue as controversial.
The Ukrainians thought his statues were worth removing. Let’s see what happens in Germany.
Statue of Lenin erected in Germany. Statue of Ulysses S Grant torn down in San Francisco. Will the mainstream media ever take responsibility for the way they have perverted history in their own image?
I can understand why many in the 'Eastern Block' would be upset. A significant figure in history - true. I do not know what it is like in Germany but the Alt-Left here in the UK hate the working class more than they do the toffs. So I doubt they like him in the UK.
upsetting the right
My history is not great but Stalin or Lenin would have had slightly less political ‘understanding’ and ‘flexibility’ with the folks tearing up the place at the moment. Careful what you wish for
Просто оставайтесь дома
I can hear Hitler now...”I told you these bloody Bolshevik’s would never cease!!”
Blatant racism what’s next Hitler
And why are the BBC bothered about Germany....
Hmmm
That's ridiculous!!!!!
Welcome move
BBC want this to replace Churchill. DefundTheBBC
Bit of a typo on the order docket, when statue was ordered, they THOUGHT they said LENNON, a tribute to John Lennon , to mark an anniversary to the musical Icon ! Easily done over the phone ! Bit like UK MP Chris Grayling, ordering FERRIES from company with NO F*CKING boats !
The communists are not going away. They want more oppression, more dictatorship, more poverty.
Where is your reporting on this
What's controversial about Lenin? Stalin was the nutter
