It's been a difficult few weeks for Co-op Live. The £365m music venue, located at Eastlands next to the Etihad Stadium had been slated to open on April 23 with comedian Peter Kay taking to the stage, but its opening has been delayed several times due to 'technical issues' and ongoing building work.
Over the course of the past two weeks, ticketholders have raised concerns about money they had spent on hotels and travel, while others complained about being swapped into 'far worse' seats for the Take That gigs as the shows moved venues. The M.E.N. understands that work is still being undertaken to reschedule American popstar Olivia Rodrigo's gigs and that the venue are working with the artists and promoter, with new dates to be announced in due course.
"We are taking the pause to think about the best ways to do that. Our naming rights partner, the Co-op Group, has also expressed the importance of ensuring that the significant impact on ticketholders is recognised and addressed, with more detail to follow soon."
