Climate campaigner Greta Thunberg prepares to sail to the US – video

'I feel a bit seasick and it's not going to be comfortable but that I can live with,' says the 16-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg as she prepares to sail across the North Atlantic to attend a climate conference in New York. She will be travelling in a racing yacht with no shower, toilet or privacy to take part in a United Nations summit. 'If it's really hard then I just have to think it's only for two weeks and then I can go back to as usual.

If you want folk to go green, you have to suggest feasible options. While this is an alternative to flying, the option is barmy in the sense that it is simply impossible for average people to consider. We don't have either the time or contacts to do this!

With no sailing experience (I'm guessing she hasn't), she's in for a bumpy ride. The problem is, if you don't do anything whilst on a sailing boat, the constant battering will make her throw up, she won't be able to eat or sleep. But bless her anyway for giving it a go...
