Motorists in the capital were advised to take extra care when driving down Ormeau Road, towards the south of Belfast after a spillage of what was termed "animal waste".
The spillage of the animal waste across part of the road near the junction with Knockbreda Park, affected all lanes. The police were liaising with Belfast City Council to have the road cleaned, but while the clear-up operation took place, drivers were told to expect some delays. Up until the mess was removed, motorists were also warned to drive with caution in the area or perhaps find a different route for their onward journey. Police and council officials have not yet said what precisely the nature of the animal waste was or how it got there.
It was a load of fish. Mainly on countrybound side, although was on both sides. Could still see the odd one all the way up to Carryduff roundabout
