Chris Sutton moved to shut Kris Boyd down as the Rangers hero offered a withering take on Celtic's European record.
The Parkhead icon didn't miss in his hard-hitting Record Sport column in the wake of his former team's 6-0 pasting at the hands of Atletico Madrid. But he wasn't having any of it from his on-air sparring parter when he hinted Celtic are merely content to dominate domestically. The duo clashed ahead of the Sunday double header.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Sutton said: "It was an embarrassing evening for Celtic. I've got to say I didn't fancy Celtic in any way, shape or form. People will talk about the sending off but there is a bigger picture for Celtic.
Boyd then interjected and queried if the champions in 11 of the past 12 seasons are comfortable staying top of the heap in Scotland rather than branching out on the continent. He said: "Chris, do you think Celtic are solely focused on winning domestically and forget about Europe?"Rangers hero Boyd answered back: "I'm asking you a question, it wasn't a statement, I'm asking you a question.
