The new Chinese-language editions must not contain any content that go against the beliefs of the Chinese Communist Party, according to the country's top officials on religious matters.

Beijing said all translated classic religious books should be 're-evaluated'. The new editions must not contain any content that go against Socialism. Paragraphs deemed wrong by censors will be amended or re-translated.
