Children are developing serious mental health conditions, including post-traumatic stress, because of the coronavirus pandemic, a charity has warned. As well as anxiety about their loved ones' health, many children are facing social isolation and hunger. With many classrooms still closed for lockdown, children unable to access the internet at home have been effectively shut out of online lessons.
These children had been particularly affected by the global death tolls, he said, which had made them worried their parents and friends would die of coronavirus. Galiema Amien-Cloete, a primary school headteacher in London, told the BBC she'd also seen parents' anxieties around the coronavirus"transferred to their children".
One primary-school-age girl from London, quoted in the report, said she feels"anxious because my mum works for the NHS, and I don't know if she's going to catch it or not". Another young girl said every time her mother left the house to go to work she thought,"mum's going to die, she's not coming back".

Has it not occurred to you, by producing this report, the Childhood Trust are petitioning for money. PTSD due to Coronavirus is a ridiculous suggestion, I'll accept they might be fed up, but mentally ill, no.
But don’t blame it too much on the lockdown as without a lockdown we will experience more tragedies and deaths.... BorisJohnson
That indicates that they are alive.
And you’re partly to blame.....take a look at yourselves and take stock!!
Pathetic. Its been 3 months. Imagine living for years with the threat of a BOMB falling on your house. Talk to the Syrian kids or all the others in desperate need of food or a home about post traumatic stress.
Parental influence creating another generation of snowflakes. More good news for the future
Didn't see that coming! snowflakesociety
Soft arsed article! Imagine kids in WW1&2. Society has been allowed to turn kids into mamby-pamby soft soap sissy weeds, with their faces stuck into screens, and no interest in anything else. No strength, no physical prowess or agility, no imagination (stolen from them!)
Try growing up in early 80s Britain with no jobs, riots and the threat of global nuclear war at any moment. I think they’ll be okay.
🙄 Social Media ( in all forms) & Modern Parenting has a lot to answer for - think of all the children who ‘got on with it’ when evacuated during the World Wars...
From lockdown if anything.
Any immigrant who commits a serious, or any violent crime, should on completion of their sentence be deported, or held in detention until such time as they can be deported. There should be no appeals process for this. No sob stories. No more chances.

I started to notice a change in my 7 year old son after about 3 weeks, I was still going out to work. He was angry and finally blurted out that he didn’t want me to die and the virus would get me if I carried on going to work. He’s back at school since last week and is doing well
Back to school
I would have loved all this time off personally.
Well duuuhhh! Geez... bbc coming out with all the surprising news today! Not. Ffs.
I will do youtube video viral and worldwide targeted your channel
MentalHealthMatters
I’m an adult getting PTSD from covid, so I bet.
Cotton wool kids weakened and brain washed by the Far Left... MSM, Schools, Universities, Social Services... A future of depression and mental ilness awaits many not knowing the real value of things and how to enjoy the simple things and interactions in life.
This has to be another crazy left wing idea. Absolute bullshit. Kids have six weeks holiday every year, are we supposed to believe they are sent back to school traumatised by the experience.
Because they've had it hammered into them by left wing organisations like the BBC that they've been traumatised. A self fulfilling prophecy.
This X1000
Yes cos they need to be at school. Why do you post this when nobody will see it?
How very sad!
