RISHI SUNAK this week admitted he “can’t quite remember” when he first learned about sex – and told a panel on ITV’s Loose Women that he had picked up the facts of life “through a mix of things”.I remember vividly the cringe-making book called Where Do Babies Come From? that my mum brought to my bedroom when I was about 11.It states that sex education will not be taught to kids before they are nine, and what they learn will be based on science.
Our schools are meant to nurture and educate the next generation, not baffle them with inappropriate content.Schoolchildren absorb facts like sponges and kids who are still at the age where they are dealing with the loss of Father Christmas and the Tooth Fairy should not have had to deal with grown-up sex lessons.Of course, children need to be educated about the truthful facts, at the right age, and be able to ask questions.
There was speculation that the 46-year-old presenter wore it as a revenge dress after splitting from her husband of 14 years last year, but she says it’s all down to a woman “owning who she is”.She confessed that a decade ago she wouldn’t have dared to wear such a bold outfit, fretting over her arms and thighs.I hope she enjoyed every single second in the spotlight on the red carpet – and firmly stuck two fingers up at those idiots who tried to condemn her.
A wonderful metal detector enthusiast came forward and spent a huge chunk of his weekend scouring the areas that my feckless husband had visited.
