'It's impossible to lose weight and keep the weight off for good if you don't enjoy what you're eating'

TV chef and pub owner Tom Kerridge has shared his slimming secrets after dropping an incredible 12 stone.

As well as grazing on foods around him while working a busy service, the author of Lose Weight and Get Fit said a night of drinking would consist of a pint of the Italian cocktail Negroni made with gin, vermouth and Campari, followed by a whopping 15 pints. Speaking to The Sunday Times, he claimed he was "mortified" by how he used to look. He said: "Say we live to 80. Well, I thought, I'm halfway there. And then I thought... I'm not going to get there. If I'm like this, I'm not going to make it."

"The cooking techniques mean there's no compromise on flavour and you're promised a generous plate of food! I'm hoping this will help more people to lose weight and still love what they eat." In order to achieve his transformation, Tom added foods that were high in protein, including vegetables, tinned beans and eggs, as well as cutting out sugar so that he wasn't tempted to snack. Tom, who wrote a book about his health journey, eventually lost the weight, while still enjoying some treats, including dark chocolate.
