Chef's 'much love' message after waitress singled out in review

Merseyside restaurateur and chef Gary Usher has defended one of his staff members after "vile" comments from a customer.

The response was prompted by a one-star review of the pub in which the diner described the experience as "miserable" and the waiting staff's attitude as "horrible." The diner also accused the team of adding a service charge "without showing a receipt," labelling it "rude, conniving and deceitful." Gary wasn't prepared to let the review and negative comments go unchecked. After clarifying that his reaction had "nothing to do with the review" but what he said was the "vile" attitude towards the server, Gary said he would be blocking the customer's number and details on the system, assuring them that he does it "regularly," MEN reported.

Many of the chef's followers also sought to boost the server too, sharing their positive experiences of dining at the pub. One said: "I went to The White Horse for dinner last evening. The food and the service was absolutely wonderful and the gravy certainly was not a “thimble full”."
