Mercedes tech boss not convinced new rules have made F1 racing better🗣 'Personally, whether it’s because we’ve not had the greatest car, I’ve not been a huge fan of them.' Mercedes technical director Mike Elliott is not convinced that F1’s new regulations have delivered 'significantly closer racing' ⬇️ As always with big rule changes, one or two teams have got it right and are a way out in front. The others will catch up. The important difference is that the new cars seem to perform much better than the last generation when racing closely and following. The closeness should really arrive in the next few years imo. Cars are becoming more similar and the budget cap will actually start to take big effect because the 2022 cars were still partly developed when big teams had all the money to use. They don't produce great racing cus they're as heavy as a boat
