Researchers from Denmark surveyed cat and dog owners about the occasions on which their pets had shown signs of remembering a specific past event.

Experts asked cat and dog owners if their pets ever appeared to recall events. 80 per cent reported their pets did show signs of an episode-based memory.

I can believe it. My cat was lost for 9 days! Accidentaly got locked in a neighbours shed. When he came back the poor thing he was so skinny 😭. Anyway ever since then he needs to be reassured that he can go out freely... even if its just for 30 seconds outside and back in again.
