’s girlfriend Carrie Symonds has been denied a US visa because she went to Somaliland in 2018, it has been revealed.
The Prime Minister’s lover, 31, allegedly had her request blocked when she applied to go to the country in the next few days. She was barred from entering because she went to the East African country that is currently suffering from a civil war, according to the Daily Mail. Her trip involved spending time with the country’s president Muse Bihi Abdi and they are believed to have discussed women’s issues and sea pollution.When applying for visitor visas, also known as Estas, people are asked if they have been to Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia or Yemen on or after March 1, 2011.If you have been to any of those countries then your Esta would likely be refused.
Her visit was due to take place while Boris Johnson is at the G7 summit this weekend in Biarritz, France.First he will visit Berlin to see German Chancellor Angela Merkel to discuss Brexit-related issues over dinner.On Saturday, Mr Johnson will be at the G7 summit where he will meet other world leaders including US president Donald Trump.
This is ridiculous & inconsistent with the US policy when it comes traveling to Somaliland. US & other officials go in & out of Somaliland, including US Ambassadors in Ethiopia & Kenya. If US citizens can visit Somaliland & re-enter the US why not others?
