The Green MP for Brighton Pavilion insists she does"not believe" she has done anything wrong after the probe by the standards watchdog came to light. It is looking into an online fundraiser by her local party in the run-up to last year's general election offering a 30-minute tour of parliament guided by Ms Lucas for £150.The advert promised:"Caroline will give a 30-minute tour around parliament. See where it all happens!"
One Hove resident, 69-year-old Stuart Bower, reportedly complained to the parliamentary commissioner for standards and called the offer"unethical"."Charging a fee and boosting your income to take people around the House of Commons is bringing the office into disrepute," he told The Argus. Standards commissioner Kathryn Stone wrote back saying she was not launching an inquiry into his complaint because"an overlapping matter is already under inquiry", the newspaper reported.
Is the halo starting to slip 😳
Imagine thinking she was worth paying
🙃
Seems clear cut to me. I reckon she will donate money to charity, apologise and later resign
Obviously got time on her hands
She has to pay for flights to the states to go and see her son somehow.
I'm a lefty, if this is true its not good, you have to be principled whether it suits you or not.
Oh dear not so holler than though!!!
I’m sure she is worried
Shocked I tell you.... the trough is deep....
Gosh - £150 🙄 Reported by ex UKIP now Tory man apparently who went to the press with the story.
Surely not the oh so righteous Caroline.
she's so green
I'd be more worried about the people who actually pay that to tour it with her.
