Caroline Flack's mother Christine has hit out at ITV over the decision for her late daughter to step down from the ITV2 show Love Island in late 2019 and be replaced by presenter Laura Whitmore.
Caroline stepped down as the host of the show in December 2019 following her charge for assault after a drunken row with then boyfriend Lewis Burton. The presenter confirmed the news in a statement posted to her Instagram stories at the time, insisting she didn't want her personal life to "detract attention from the upcoming series."
"While matters were not as have been reported, I am committed to co-operating with the appropriate authorities and I can't comment further on these matters until the legal process is over." Speaking about her daughter's mental health battle, Christine revealed that the last doctor she saw before her death believed she was struggling with bipolar disorder.
Christine's comments come shortly after Caroline's former trainer Bradley Simmonds spoke about his regrets at not being there for the star before her death.
