Carol Vorderman has made a vow as she broke her silence after being forced to leave her radio show. The former Countdown star said she is "not prepared to lose my voice" after the corporation introduced new social media guidelines.
But after five years, Carol confirmed she has left her 'beloved' Saturday morning show on BBC Radio Wales, despite it "being light-hearted with no political content, because of the broadcaster's new impartiality guidelines which she said forced "non-negotiable changes to my contract".Following her initial statement, the Welsh star later took to X, formerly Twitter, as she updated her followers on the situation, which she referred to as "sad".
Her post, which has so far received 15,000 likes, was flooded with comments, with many of Carol's followers telling her how 'proud' they were are of her. "Since those non-negotiable changes to my radio contract were made, I’ve ultimately found that I’m not prepared to lose my voice on social media, change who I am, or lose the ability to express the strong beliefs I hold about the political turmoil this country finds itself in.
