Now you might have picked up a burger at a drive-through, but how about a visit with a loved one? A care home in Devon has used the concept to safely reunite residents with their families after eight weeks apart

A care home in Devon has copied the concept of drive-through restaurants to reunite loved ones during the coronavirus crisis.But through careful planning - including use of PPE, time-slots and separate stations - families were, for one day, able to see residents from the safety of their cars after eight weeks apart.

Care home staff and visitors shared this footage with the BBC with the permission of residents and families.

Use common sense and space visits so that the same thing could happen in the car park of the care home or even outside the relative’s bedroom window? The father of the little girl with cancer who had CORVID-19 symptoms visited his daughter each day through the kitchen window

Used to hate visiting my mum in a care home. 4 times I was mistaken as a resident!

After yesterday’s fiasco. This has put a smile on my face.
