Care home chiefs fear Johnson making them scapegoats over 20,000 coronavirus deaths

Care home chiefs fear they will be scapegoats for government blunders that led to the deaths of 20,000 residents in the pandemic. They fear a wave of compensation claims against cash-strapped homes denied life-saving personal protective equipment and funds.Since routine inspections were suspended on March 16, the Care Quality Commission has made 50 urgent visits to homes.

If anything the gvt has been made the scapegoat

Care home owners are responsible for the residents, who pay 800+per week to live there. It is their responsibility to put measures in place to protect their residents

But Boris has a point: Care Homes have to explain why there is such disparity b/w top and bottom 10 w.r.t. deaths.

Government have to take some blame. They diverted majority of PPE to NHS causing shortage in care homes and their guidelines suggested they would not test people coming from hospital back to carehomes this causing Covid to enter carehomes.

Care homes fear they'll get the blame for something that happened in their care homes under their watch.

Wait till you hear about realDonaldTrump

He has to deflect the blame from himself so who else ?
