A man has been arrested after a group of five pedestrians were struck by a car that mounted a pavement near a primary school. The five were on a pavement close to Tintagel Primary School on the B3263 in Cornwall, when they were hit by a Mazda MX-5 at about 11.50pm on Sunday.
All five were taken to Derriford Hospital to have their injuries treated - none of which are believed to be life-threatening, CornwallLive reported. The car driver, a 22-year-old local man, who was unhurt, was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink or drugs. He is currently in custody, Devon & Cornwall Police said. The force has not detailed the ages or gender of those injured.
The B3263 was closed for several hours while police investigated this collision. Officers from the Roads Policing Team are appealing for any witnesses, particularly those with dashcam of the collision, to come forward quoting log 1038 of August 27 2023.
