A car crashed through the front doors of a care home near Northampton General Hospital before stopping inside the reception. According to Northamptonshire Police, the incident happened on Wednesday at 12.53pm.
The vehicle had smashed into the Angela Grace Nursing Home on Cheyne Walk. One eyewitness, who wanted to remain anonymous, said: "I arrived at Northampton General at 1.30pm and there were three fire engines, a police car and an ambulance. "They were all outside the nursing home. Another eye-witness at the scene said a vehicle had been driven in through the front doors of the nursing home."As I looked over and moved my angle, I could see that the vehicle was still visible in the reception area of the home. When I left the hospital just before 3pm the vehicle had been removed and the emergency services had departed."
Northamptonshire Police confirmed that there had thankfully been no casualties as a result of the collision. A spokesperson said: "I can confirm we received a call at 12.53pm yesterday , reporting that a car had collided with the entrance of a building in Cheyne Walk, Northampton.
