Calvin Robinson has hit out at GB News following the announcement that the TV channel had terminated his employment. It came after he was initially suspended following his support for Dan Wootton in the wake of an incident on air involving Laurence Fox, where the latter made remarks about journalist Ava Evans.
He said Dan Wootton had "helped to build this station" and that he, Robinson, had "stood up" for both Wootton and Laurence Fox. Referring to GB News, Robinson said he "believed the project was doomed". Robinson said he had been "dumped" and it was "hurtful", adding that he would have "plenty more to say" in the future.
Fox, 45, had hosted his own weekly GB News show since November 2022, but was appearing as a guest on Dan Wootton Tonight when he made the comments. Last week, 37-year-old Robinson, who hosted a religious current affairs programme on the channel, revealed he had also been suspended from GB News after he stood in solidarity with Wootton online, adding that GB News will be on "borrowed time" if it does not stand by Wootton.
