Oxford University faces accusations of unfairness over the cost of applying for courses.

Next month, the university's"congregation", its sovereign body, will hear a resolution calling for a phasing out of application fees for graduate courses, such as masters or doctorate studies.

"This is something that came up most years where we'd have applicants directly emailing us saying the fee was a barrier," professor of astrophysics Chris Lintott told Research Professional News. But an internal university email appears to warn that the fee is worth £2m per year and abolishing it would mean cutting services or finding the money from other departmental budgets.

A spokeswoman for Oxford University said the fee for graduate applications helped to cover the cost of processing admissions from 30,000 applicants per year.

Julian Assange: Australian MPs call on UK to block US extraditionPoliticians from WikiLeaks founder’s home country have flown to UK to visit him in jail Assange is an actual whistleblower. Democrats are only mad at him because he exposed Democrats dirty deeds. People are so damn delusional to call this man a bad guy. The media and government did the same exact thing to Snowden. Shame. Personally I would like to see him pay back everybody who lost money , then pay back the British government for policing during his stay at the embassy, then his prison costs, then the two women he raped and then after that l dump him in Sweden Assange is a criminal.
