Call the Midwife favourite Helen George, who plays Trixie, has shown off her bold new hairstyle as filming for the fourteenth series of the hit show gets underway

The 14th series of Call The Midwife is currently in the works, and one character has undergone a makeover for the new series. Actress Helen George has given fans a peek behind the scenes, revealing her character Trixie has a new hairstyle.

It seems Trixie's style is evolving as the show transitions into the 1970s. Helen sported a dark green roll-neck jumper and patterned knitted vest in the snap - an iconic fashion trend from the era. She confirmed she would be returning to Call the Midwife back in April as she shared footage from series 14 on social media. Dressed up as Trixie, she could be seen walking down the steps of Nonnatus House in a black and white coat.

In the season finale, Trixie announced her plans to join her husband Matthew Alyward in New York. He ditched Poplar for NYC earlier in the series in a bid to build up his fortune again, but Trixie was hesitant to join him over there. However, she changed her mind and shared her plans at the end of the series.
