It’s sounds insensitive on the face of it but a: on the flip side this technology probably helps saves lives by giving access to specialists and b: what doctor do you know who holds your hand or offers a hug with such news anyway.

If the specialist was in another hospital miles away then I suppose this is just barely borderline acceptable (although really a nurse should have accompanied the robot) but if he was in the same building then he should have told the guy in person.
