By trying to stay ‘neutral’ on LGBT rights, the BBC and the Met risk normalising prejudice | Frances Ryan

Scotland Yard has launched an investigation after three police officers allegedly joined a protest in London last weekend against Brunei’s new anti-gay laws. The officers were filmed smiling and holding LGBT flags, seemingly contrary to the Met’s policy to police demonstrations without “favour and to remain impartial at all times”.

Frances86878358 How long before the BBC balance each weather forecast of rain with one forecasting dry weather?

Just leaving this here for no reason at all...

Thank you for writing this piece DrFrancesRyan

If the BBCs recent behaviour towards lgbt is 'neutral', I'd hate to see what openly hostile would look like.

And Angela Smith was clearly saying funny tings as In it’s bad some people are called it

dont like saying the phrase lgbtq because I find the word queer offensive Diane abott said how bad it is Sadiqs called a pai on TV is she racist for saying the P word I bought a piece of wood a 4 by 2 found out its rhyming slang for Jew Same as front wheel skid

If real bigots. One among no one would care bigoted police word via this that real fit for purpose

A 16 year old child could order cider in a pub, so could order do much they destroy their liver as such they’re allowed to under equality have gr red surgery and ruin their body

Seeing as trans added themselves to the LGB flag then the police shouldnt be bias in supporting lgbt and the bosses are right to interfere as the they can lead to children being physically abused without knowing what they really want

Neutral? Are you kidding me? They're not neutral by a long mile. On LGBT issues the police has taken a far left political stance, charging anyone that dares contradict the dogma. To wit, the cases of Caroline Farrow and the parents that opposed their kid's transition.

You're right. Do you understand why it's so concerning that your newspaper is anti-trans?

Thank you for saying this Frances.

LGBT rights are human rights, they are not something you stay ‘neutral’ about

I guess GOD is 'prejudiced,' too?

The LGBBC?

And there is nothing natural in transgender the whole thing is man made, there is nothing natural at their existence, there is nothing natural in their behavior, there is nothing natural at their existence. None of this exists by our nature nor a social role.

Yeah, here is a little problem! When there are no sidelines we talking about extremism.

Almost like 'photo shopped' smiles! Mean it, or don't

can we stop labelling and segregating everyone into groups? treat everyone equally and this bs stops.

They don't risk it they just do it

Wrong, they’re trying to remain neutral, which is appropriate and correct.

That doesn’t look neutral to me

Gay Muslims on LGBT lessons rowThey say books aimed at teaching kids about characteristics protected in the Equality Act – stories some parents have protested – would have helped them growing up. If they don't like UK they can always move to Brunei Islam reminds me of Catholics - they are against homosexuality but for some strange reason being a pedophile is fine. Catholic priests are into young underaged boys, Muslims are into young girls, their Prophet married a 9 y/o one or even younger! Religious fanatics = hypocrites please politely remove 'Muslim' from that gay sentence... then tell us what you want us to hear

Texas 'religious freedom' bill opens door to LGBT discrimination, opponents sayProposed law would protect the right of state-licensed workers to refuse to provide services based on their religious beliefs that's the point Good law. Nobody should be compelled by law to love to artificially love and respect everyone and everything. It's their choice who they want to service and if it's against their religious or moral belief they should refuse. So, an atheist can refuse treatment to a Christian. Seems fair to me! Let the games begin. I wonder who Pastafarians will exclude?
