For years, hope had been held out that Bury supporters could be brought back together. thought youth games would be diverted away from the playing fields due to the FA Cup match; could they not have and their cause was done no good when a 12 year-old girl and a player were injured by a flare thrown into the stadium during the FA Cup match. There has been nothing definitive to link this incident to the protests , but the sheer thoughtlessness of such behaviour is staggering and it seemed clear from the subsequentwhere they believed the responsibility for this rested.
