Liverpool and Manchester's criminal gangs have been increasingly intertwined in recent years

The daring machete robbery of a stash house belonging to the Huyton Firm shone a light on the brutal means North West gangsters will take to climb the ranks of the criminal underworld.

The encrypted messaging platform, founded in 2016, gave criminals the opportunity to communicate with each other behind an anonymous handle. After the conclusion of his trial in Liverpool Crown Court, violence erupted again between the two gangs. And the Salford street war shone a light on the two cities' criminal associations, with the Anti A Team recruiting Liverpool foot soldiers to carry out attempted assassinations.

But the raid at the gang's stash house would spark a chain of events that led to the downfall of the gang. In the days after the raid, Vincent Coggins deployed his gang to find out who was responsible for the violent robbery. Unable to believe a gang from another city could be behind the robbery, Vincent Coggins messaged Jarvis “no way manks f***er local”.

Caswell's role in the raid was highly risky. While Jason Cox boasted on EncroChat about robbing "the biggest firm in Liverpool", Vincent Coggins actually approached Caswell for help in identifying those responsible. As one source told the ECHO, "A lot of people will change their allegiances if there is an opportunity to take another OCG's communities".
