Increased costs coming with extra documentation could cause shortages from July

checks. Exporters from the EU sending produce to Britain will have to fill out a VI-1 form. The form includes detailed questions such as how strong the wine is, what grape it is made from and how many containers is it being sent to and will require customs officials to stamp it before goods are allowed to move.Wine importer and wholesaler Daniel Lambert told BBC Newsnight that he imports thousands of bottles of wine from the EU each week to sell to Britons.

Nothing will change....just like what they promised when decimalization came in!!

Only EU plonk! Plenty of other good & superior wines from NON EU countries including our own I'm sure!

The EU hasn’t threatened, BoZo and the boys club signed up to this.

Ive drank Aussie wine for years (not 24/7 you understand 🍷). There’s more US wine being seen here now too. But in reality, they need our custom so filling in a couple of customs forms - same as Oz/NZ/US producers do - won’t be any hardship. Nor will it impact prices much.

Australia, New Zealand, and other places do very good wine as well.

Does anyone for one second believe French wine exporters are going to wake up on 1st July and say to themselves it’s just too much hassle to export to our biggest overseas market?

Wouldnt this just mean buying our wine from non EU countries? I mostly drink NZ wine.
