Britney Spears' Boyfriend Sam Asghari Slams Her Father, Jamie

Britney Spears' boyfriend Sam Asghari has spoken out following the release of new documentary Framing Britney Spears. In a scathing post on social media, Sam - who has been dating the singer since 2016 - didn't hold back when he called Jamie, Britney's father, 'a dick' and alleged that he had tried to control his relationship with the singer.

Posting on his Instagram stories, Sam wrote yesterday: 'Now it’s important for people to understand that I have zero respect for someone trying to control our relationship and constantly throwing obstacles our way. In my opinion Jamie is a total dick. I won’t be going into details because I’ve always respected our privacy but at the same time I didn’t come to this country to not be able to express my opinion and freedom.

Following the post, Sam stuck by what he said when he was approached by TMZ outside a coffee shop, telling the gossip website: 'What I said is what I said. I think he’s a dick, that’s just my opinion but I’m not going to go into details. Once he starts treating his daughter right, then we can be on good terms.' Sam added, 'Thank you to all the fans, Britney is doing amazing. I’m always having her back.

Britney has been in a conservatorship controlled by her dad, Jamie, since 2008, following a public breakdown. The documentary, Framing Britney Spears, centers on the conflict over the conservatorship, and also follows the #FreeBritney movement. Last year, the musician has requested to have her father removed from her conservatorship, asking instead for it to be managed by private financial company The Bessemer Trust.

The singer wrote on Twitter yesterday: 'Each person has their story and their take on other people’s stories! We all have so many different bright beautiful lives! Remember, no matter what we think we know about a person's life it is nothing compared to the actual person living behind the lens.'
