The gender pay gap has been a point of conversation over the past years as workplaces are working to ensure men and women are paid fairly. However, new research into the gender pay gap statistics have revealed that there are 15 job occupations that women are paid more than men in the UK. And despite the fact that nationally, women in the UK were paid just 90p for every pound earned by a man, the new statistics released by the Office for National Statistics, commissioned byCoincidentally, this is the biggest wage gap when it comes to all pay gaps in the country. A woman working as a midwife earns on average £20.9 per hour, whilst her male colleagues doing the same job only get £13.49.The second on this list are special needs education teaching professionals.
Third on the list is Building and civil engineering technicians. In this profession, the gap is 23% in favor of the British woman. On average, she can expect to earn £15.79 per hour, whilst the British man inky averages out on £12.84 per hour.
