A British tourist died after choking on a chicken kebab while on holiday in Croatia, an inquest has heard.
Before his death he had complained to his wife that the chicken he was served was tough and felt like it had got lodged in his throat while they were dining at Hotel Istra on September 24 last year.Croatian doctors said Allan died due to a blood clot but pathologist Dr Meleri Morgan said his death could have been related to the piece of meat he choked on.
Doctors in Croatia gave a proposed cause of death as a thrombosis – a blood clot – but a post-mortem examination was never carried out, the inquest was told.
