A group of friends jumped into the water to save a friend who had been thrown from a banana boat but were unable to find him, an inquest was told.
Emails sent between Mr Hunt’s son Harry Hunt, his sister Emma and his friends Cameron Maynard and Ron Odedra revealed the desperate search for their friend.Mr Chapelow, from Chiswick, west London, was thrown from the boat when it hit a wake near the Santa Clara Dam and tilted to the left, the inquest was told.
Mr Odedra, who was also on the banana boat, said he pulled the vessel towards the Master Crafter that was towing it to check Richard was not caught underneath it. Other and family rode out on jet skis and Mr Odedra returned to shore and climbed a cliff to see if he could see Mr Chapelow.The accident happened near the Santa Clara Dam in Portugal
