Brie Larson adopted an esoteric approach to dressing at the 2024 Met Gala . With a helping hand from Prada, the actor is leaning into the latter part of “The Garden of Time” dress code, using her look to represent the passage of time. “We wanted to lean into the visual representations that mark the passing of time,” Larson says of her collaboration with the Italian house.
The under-layer of her look is a nod to the orange and beige gradient from the autumn/winter 2007 collection, while the pencil dress is embroidered with crystals that offer a gilded interpretation on the sands of time. In addition to honouring Prada collections of yore, Larson’s dress offers a more literal interpretation, too. Over her archive-inspired dress is a stiff, but diaphanous layer of lilac crinoline in the shape of an hourglass – a nod to the autumn/winter 2024 collection.
