Rolling coverage of the day’s politics as they happen, including Theresa May chairing a five-hour cabinet meeting to decide what to do about Brexit

Yvette Cooper is now planning to get MPs to pass her bill tomorrow requiring the PM to request an article 50 extension, the Mirror’s Dan Bloom reports. Originally the plan was for MPs to debate it on Thursday.

Correction. The fault of theresa_may and her nastyparty Conservatives

He is absolutely correct. If you start a journey without a map, you cannot blame someone else if you fail to reach your destination.

Of course it’s UK’s fault. But referring to UK like it’s a single entity or person isn’t helpful. I’d like to see 270 French MPs make their mind up any quicker

He’s right

Was Theresa May ever an intern with America's National Rifle Association ? She had to get her destructive streak somewhere.....

He's correct. Time for the nonsense to stop

What is wrong with an amendment to the WA and Backstop to ensure it is more acceptable to the UK?

Maybe if the EU hadn't refused to discuss the trade deal at the same time as the WA, things might have been very different. They made it impossible, though. We are not going to be trapped by them. They have played a dirty game and now it's coming back at them. Tough!

Won’t be anyone’s fault. It will be UK success. It will be celebration.

I mean, he's not wrong...

How can anybody even think about blaming the EU - that's like blaming a lamp post when you walk into it

Obviously

And he’s right

This we know .

It isn't the UK demanding our law should apply to EU territory and refusing any deal that doesn't do that

Brexit by name is the UK's fault - no debate
