She only had to buy a poxy coffee the same as everyone else, then no problemo. The way of the world unfortunately.
I went into my kitchen today and forgot what I was going for. Would you like to publish my story, it seems to be the kind of thing you're interested in.
Costa is right to throw her out !
It’s a business that sells coffee ,I’m sure if she said I’m going to feed my baby then buy a drink all would’ve been hunky dory costa
Breast milk latte. Now theirs an idea
Shes not the queen
Too true
She wasn’t going to buy anything! When the staff member approached her, she should have explained she was a little busy but could she have XYZ brought to her table. I think she’s got a cheek!
It's a coffee shop for paying customers
Why? She bought nothing.
Costa staff are really accommodating when it comes to mums and babies. I’m sure they would’ve served her at the table if she truly intended to purchase something.
Why is she furious exactly?
MrBsTweet she could have got a coffee then fed her baby - it's a business not a drop in centre
Id have done exactly the same its not a drop in centre.
Compo face
All she had to do is buy something and take a seat,as she didn't they correctly asked her to leave.
Get a coffee. Wap yer baps out sorted.
At least buy a babyccino as they are free
I agree with Costa unfortunately - if it was busy as she said it was they are a business after all and can expect the seats to be used by paying customers. She should have spoken to anyone who would have probably said yes. Instead she made herself look like someone off the street
GOOD FREELOADER.
Quite right, they need seats for customers, any other business the same, don’t know why she’s complaining!
She wasn't kicked out because she was breastfeeding, she was asked to leave because she was taking up a table from a paying customer. It's a business, not a free for all. Women like this do the breastfeeding community a huge disservice.
The fact she’s gone to the press about this says it all
Buy a baby chino at least!
she should have bought something then! Costa have every right to action what they needed to do. Silly cow.
Ffs I'll go in next time to charge my phone up then leave Yeah?
She is making out its because of breastfeeding when the fact is she went into a cafe, sat down got comfortable and didn't buy anything! If we all did that these cafes would close down.I've been going to Costa for over 12yr since my first born and the service has been fantastic.
Attention seeking?
It’s a shop. If not buying don’t expect service. Simples.
I don’t agree Costa asking her to leave. But Mum could have explained the situation. Or even asked the staff to bring her order given the circumstances. I guess the queue of people waiting also wanted to sit and chill out of the rain so they might have complained.
The breastfeeding is irrelevant, you can't just go and sit in a coffee house and not buy anything. They are a business and you could be taking a seat from a paying customer. Nice try with getting the outrage machine going tho.
There is a Costa situated in my local hospital and a Dr was told to leave for sitting down with his newspaper. I was sat at the table next to him. He was with his colleague who did make a purchase. If they will kick out a hard working Dr they will do the same to anyone
Nope I completely agree with Kayleigh, it makes sense to feed your child then get a drink otherwise while your waiting they’ll be screaming and your drink will go cold! Very bad customer service by costa.
Any sympathy I had disappeared when I read “my favourite chai latte”. Get over yourself love...
What UTTER BS you go INTO a shop you buy don’t use facilities then walk out I’ve seen THAT a lot of times people go in use facilities WiFi etc take pack lunch use toilet and walk out with out buying anything 🤷♂️
Ah come on, SOME women who breast feed thing they deserve a medal as big as a house. Was she just sitting at a table? Was she in a special bvaby room? She needs to explain . I think breast feeding is a good thing IF you want to do it . But shouldn't be forced on other people
It’s simple you go in buy something then sit down and feed your baby!!
Perhaps she should have bought something.
...if they let one person stay when they haven’t bought something then it makes it harder to turn away anyone in future when they come in and don’t buy anything.
They have a point, they weren’t asking her to leave because she was breastfeeding, they were asking her to leave because she was taking up one of their tables in a busy shop when she hadn’t bought anything. They’ve got to think about their business too...
Yep it’s not a doss house
her. It's not a public space,it's a business. If she wants to use the 'facilities' then buy something.
Well they have a point...dont they?
