Be honest now, service stations just aren't the kind of places anyone wants to spend any considerable time at.
We'd set off on our trip to the Lake District at 7am from West Lancashire and reached Tebay at prime breakfast time. There's also a Quick Kitchen for coffee and food on the go and a farm shop with its own butcher, cheese counter and deli, stuffed with locally-farmed and fresh produce, all sourced within a 30-mile radius of the services. So the signs that my breakfast was going to be cooked with fresh ingredients were good.
The sausages had those tiny juice bubbles inside that you get just after they have started hissing a bit , sitting between the speckled green herbs and pork meat. The sausage was a smidge crumbly when I cut into it, but was thick for a Cumberland.
They’re all a big rip off and Tebay is no exception. It just looks a bit better and that’s what’s drawn you in. You should have saved your money and had your breakfast at home.
The one rare occasion I'll agree with you.. But there is a caveat.... Tebay isn't in Lancashire. tebay services
