Bramcote college live updates as major fire breaks out, residents told to keep windows shut

Around eight fire engines were understood to be at the former St John's College, off Chilwell Lane, Bramcote, near Devil's Bend. The road was already closed due to a wall collapse, but a police vehicle could be seen at the scene blocking the thoroughfare.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service warned nearby residents to keep windows and doors closed due to thick smoke. Stapleford Fire Station posted on Facebook: "We are dealing with a large fire on Chilwell Lane, Bramcote. The road was already closed. If you are local, we advise to keep your doors and windows closed.
