A baby boy has been airlifted to hospital after he was found unconscious in a swimming pool.
The boy, one, was discovered by his family submerged in the pool soon after they realised he was missing. A search of the upstairs and downstairs rooms at the child’s home failed to find any sign of him but tragically when family members went outside they found him in the swimming pool. An air ambulance, paramedics and police rushed to the boy’s home in Queen’s Fields West, Bognor Regis, West Sussex yesterday afternoon and, after emergency treatment to try to revive the boy, he was flown by helicopter to Southampton General Hospital where doctors had been put on emergency standby.Police were understood to have interviewed the family about the circumstances of the incident and to have ruled that it was a very tragic family accident.
