For many, it would be the job of a lifetime. Five-year-old Levi Hallows from Stockport has bagged himself a sweet deal, after being named a supermarket's 'chief Easter egg tasting officer'.
He edged out hundreds of competitors to chosen by Aldi for the role, in which he will receive all of the firm's Easter eggs in return for his feedback which will be taken into account for next year's offerings. Candidates for the egg-straordinary position were asked to submit a video entry. In his video, Levi held a bar of chocolate and sang a song. He sang: "Do you have a sweet tooth? I do! I’ve had it since I was a boy!"Levi said: "I’m so excited and can’t wait to taste the eggs. My mum and grandparents are very proud of me and I can’t wait to tell all my friends at school."
Levi’s mum Mary said: "As soon as I told Levi he had won, he started taking his new job title very seriously. He was absolutely over the moon!" Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, said: "Our Easter eggs are hugely popular but it’s important we continue to amaze shoppers with innovative, fun products each year. That’s why the role of our Chief Easter Egg Tasting Officer is such an important one.
