Boris Johnson has written to Angela Rayner to insist that “misogynistic” claims about her conduct at Prime Minister’s Questions were not in his name amid backlash over the “smear” against her.

MPs on both sides of the Commons on Sunday condemned the claims, reportedly made by a Tory MP, that Ms Rayner had crossed and uncrossed her legs on the Labour front bench in an attempt to distract Mr Johnson.

So a serial liar is saying it wasn't him? Maybe next week we'll find out he has been assured it wasn't him. And then that he hadn't known being misogynistic was wrong.

Sounds like a smear on her and on the PM. Who writes this drivel?

Well said Bozza!

Willing to bet it was her own lot that started this, it’s just her/their style. Pathetic!!

Act modestly, without going to extremes....and all this will be a non subject. Except. I was on the verge of saying hats off to him for speaking out…then I gave my head a wobble and realised a) it absolves him from lechery b) you’d have to be Trump not to condemn it c) it’s a cut n paste cynical apology d) he’d out the Tory who said it if he truly cared.
