Boris Johnson’s ineptitude and lack of ability to keep up with what’s happening astounds me at new levels daily. Which world has he been living in? Has he not spoken to the FTSE 500 companies who have already announced the property savings they will enjoy by committing to WFH?

Employees will seek employers who are forward-thinking (unlike Boris Johnson). You can expect resignation letters on desks if you don’t allow your employees to work from home. Good luck to all the backwards-looking and stubborn companies who think office work is the only way.

Nobody should be forced back into an office if their mental health is worse in an office. He shouldn’t make such blind blanket statements that cause anxiety and depression. Though this has been the Boris effect on mental health throughout. Work from home is here to stay.

No they wont

Let them work from home until things are properly in control 🙄

No one knows what could happen in a few days. It doesn't make sense to talk about an event that could happen in a few months, it's irresponsible.

No. No they won't. Culture has changed. Nobody wants to sit on a motorway bumper to bumper or squeeze into a train.

We sodding well won’t.

Imagine returning to an office. The world has changed BorisJohnson and returning to an office to work full-time is no longer part of the plan.

We’ve been told we’ll be WFH for most of this year. And that it’s likely there will be more WFH in the long term. Is so much better. More time to maintain a healthier lifestyle and far better for the environment. Boris worried about economy at expense of everything else 🙄

How about we start with the House Of Commons first and see how that goes, give it a month or so and then review it. Some people never learn and usually it's the ones that believe they have done nothing wrong having presided over a disaster. ToryIncompetence

Fuck off mate.

Nope

Says a man that COVID would be over by last Xmas!

The fuck is a 'short month'

No they won’t

They don’t have to, working from home is effective. If it’s possible workers should have a choice.

'A few short months', more Tory cuts?

The office 9 to 5, Mon to Fri is Dead!

Good lord! Covid has been devastating

Tory donors with property interests. Donations £11 million. Corrupt Tory MPs with a vested interest in property donors. Too many. Tory MPs with integrity. ZERO Johnson is the last person in the known universe you should trust.

Former office workers: No, they won’t.

Our lease expires and we are not renewing it nor renting other premises. The year WFH has been so successful we are adopting it permanently. Team meetings only at our office until the lease expires. It’s not for everyone but I’m happy.

Mond/Tues - wfh Wed/Thur/Fri - office

For someone with stellar education and upper-class opportunities, he certainly seems willfully ignorant.

Maybe they don’t want to

I think for many companies and even councils, there can be a healthy work mix of home and office now. We have seen it is possible.

That’s a lot of February’s

Talking about what he wants to happen again rather than what's sensible. Mr Johnson certainly doesn't learn from his mistakes how many deaths and waves must we endure till he learns sadly I fear too many.

Turn the offices into classrooms they can go back sooner then 🤷🏻‍♀️

Companies all have carbon emission reduction targets and a significant %of those will be met by wfh being permanent 4/5 days a week.

And just how many 'just small months' BorisJohnson

I've spoken with 4 companies in the last month, all WFH roles. I don't see a mad rush for office-based work going forward.

I don't want to sit on your expensovr packed fucking trains dick

Non worker tells workers what to do. Classic.

No one — literally no one other than the biggest of bootlickers — would opt to embark on a pointless, and expensive, commute to go to a shitty office when they can roll out of bed and do their job.

Still following the data?

He’s obviously put £500 million of tax payers money on a bet with William Hill at 5-1 that there will be a 4th Lockdown

Not according to the various FTSE100 firms I work with... Johnson needs to seize this opportunity to move the country into the present rather than *constantly* looking to the past.

Tories are kacking it, their whole strategy since '79 has moved UK away from actually making stuff to a service industry economy. Permanently empty city centres for two or three days of working week will stiff that - and tax revenues

Doubtful, ducks, doubtful. newnormal WFB workingfromhome

Just gotta flatten the curve first.

Literally nobody is requesting that

Maybe he is not aware that one of his own civil service departments: HMRC have announced that its 64k workers can work at him two days a week when we get back to normal, (where the job allows it - which it has for 95% of staff). With possibility of even a third day if that works

Sure they will. He’s said this before

Sooooo stuuuuuupid a boy BorisJohnson Can be.

Useless puppet

I was not aware that we have short months and long ones 🙄

Not if it’s cheaper to close offices and companies save money.

Preposterous, who is eager to spend 4 hours a day commuting to work in windowless space and eat overpriced fast food? Those City towers need to be repurposed.

I can't see it happening now that the genie is out of the bottle, I think we're going to see a decent % of WFH permanently. Companies have a significant opportunity to save on real estate and corporate travel, workers have opportunities to save on commuting and housing costs.

Only those who still have a job.

How the fuck does he know what workers want?

Really! That is confident talk!

Pret will be saved, no matter the cost!

thanks for this news

Thanks, Boris. BorisJohnson
