Boris Johnson has told Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of his “grave concern” at Turkey’s military incursion into northern Syria, Downing Street has said.

It is a very complicated situation going on down there. It is not as simple as the Turks attacking the Kurds. The Americans should not have cut the Kurds loose as they have, but both sides, Kurds and Turks alike have been taking advantage of the situation in the region.
