MPs narrowly passed the Letwin amendment by a majority of 16 votes.

The intention is to try and force a delay by requiring Johnson to request an extension in order to put in place the necessary legislation before exiting the EU.Many are understandably confused by how this can possibly be legal.

There's no confusion. He said he wouldn't negotiate an extension. The law doesn't require him to, it simply states he has to ask. Asking is very different from negotiating.

HE didn’t ask for the extension. Why the confusion?

I can dig a ditch faster than a dozer. That is if anyone is asking

A 'law' that actively seeks to subvert democracy should be broken as a matter of principle.

This cannot be true because a letter was sent to EU last night seeking for an extension.

No, he said he would not negotiate a deal, he is not required to negotiate__ Only ask for one it is up to EU to say if they give one abnd how long. Borris is playing with words.

Writing the letter is one thing, negotiating an extension is a different thing. So the letter might ask for one, but he won’t engage the EU about obtaining one. It’s not that confusing. The EU will say ‘no’ anyway. It’s the Deal or nothing, the extension solves nothing.

We need a second referdum now that it is established that Turkey is not joining the EU.
