The prime minister's press secretary Allegra Stratton was asked more than 20 questions about the row at briefing for Westminster journalists."The key thing is that this was dealt with swiftly and the Speaker - who has enormous respect and authority in Parliament - regards it as a point of clarification and it has now been dealt with," she told reporters.

Johnson has no clarity of thought when questioned in the House. He just blurts out the first thing that enters his head before waving his arms and shouting at the top of his voice.
