A body found on the Greek island of Symi this morning has been confirmed to be that of Dr Michael Mosley.
Since then, police have been searching for the doctor after he set out for the walk at 1.30pm and failed to return by 7.30pm. For more than three days, local authorities have been searching for Dr Mosley along the walking route he was thought to have taken, the Mirror reports.After extensive searches, efforts were diverted to the caves known as The Abyss, where it was believed search staff found a body, reportedly with a purple umbrella.
In a statement, Dr Mosley's wife Clare confirmed the death of her husband. She said: "I don’t know quite where to begin with this. It’s devastating to have lost Michael, my wonderful, funny, kind and brilliant husband. We had an incredibly lucky life together. We loved each other very much and were so happy together."
