I am fortunate enough to have stayed in a wide variety of accommodation in my time. From cramped hostels and smelly festival tents to five-star boutique hotels and even a "presidential suite".
You'd be lucky to get a spot in a top bunk in a hostel in London for that price, so I knew was going to spend the night like royalty in comparison. I wasn't expecting crystal chandeliers and a champagne-filled mini bar, but at the very least a spacious and spotless room. Personally, I'm not into this crushed velvet trend. And although the chairs were soft and comfortable, the silver crushed velvet look didn't work for me.
There were plenty of logically placed plug sockets and a free-standing mirror on the desk that doubled as a comfortable hairstyling station. Things like this may not even register to some, but they're the kind of details I believe showcase smart thinking from management and that they actually listen to what guests want.
The cherry blossom and pretty bird artwork and flower pot on the tables provided a welcome dash of nature. It was mainly self-serviced apart from toast and hot drinks.
