Not content with taking over the world, K-Pop group BLACKPINK are breaking records left and right, including seeing their latest single Kill This Love receive the highest number of first day sales for a girl group on the Hanteo Charts.
The Hanteo Charts are important because it collates all album sales data from approved stores and websites; it’s comparable to the UK’s Official Charts. Their other best known song, DDU-DU-DDU-DU, reached number 78 in the UK – but it got to number 55 in the Billboard Charts, while Kill This Love peaked at 41.
While Psy’s Gangnam Style hit number one in the singles chart back in 2012, no Korean act has done the same on the albums chart, so it was a big achievement.
