Sermons delivered in black Protestant churches in the US are nearly four times longer than sermons in Catholic churches, and evangelicals are the church-goers most likely to hear about sin, punishment and redemption, according to a new analysis.

This is important because?
The Presbyterian church I attended as an undergraduate would have sermons of an hour-and-a-half. And I very much enjoyed them.
Because Catholic homilies are part of the whole Mass. The Mass itself is the show. Most Protestant church services are primarily pastor sermons, with little other content.
That's because they've nothing else to do
Maybe Black protestants do have something to say
Thank God I am a lapsed Roman Catholic! That’s why we lapse, if the sermon are too long, or too many wrath of God references (considering how many priests are pedophiles it’s becoming hard to respect anything they say...just saying) and especially if there is too much singing.
