This article is designed to fuel racial tensions . The pay disparity is due to the length of service of officers and staff and the type of role. To suggest a bame Officer with two years service be paid the same as n officer with 20 years experience is absurd.

Read the article. The report says they’re not paid less for doing the same job. The report goes on to show that more senior officers happen to be white. There is no pay gap.
Ffs having a go at a pay structure that is entirely transparent. This is a non story in terms of pay. Promotion, retention, etc different story but to headline it as an ethnic pay gap is completely wrong (and the Met should not have indulged the medias thirst for division)
A very misleading headline when the report actually shows a person of colour doing exactly the same job as a white police officer gets paid exactly the same. The difference is because there are more white officers earning more in higher ranks. This is just poor lazy journalism
