Beyond Paradise star Kris Marshall has opened up about his feelings when ITV's Sanditon was cancelled and then brought back to life. Sanditon, a romantic drama based on an unfinished Jane Austen novel, managed to return for a second series in July 2022 despite initially struggling to attract viewers and being axed after just one series.
In a chat with RadioTimes, Kris said: "It is the first show I've been on that has been cancelled, then reinstated." He praised the fans who campaigned for the show's return after it became popular in America, saying: "The fans did that after it took off in America, organising an incredible campaign to bring the show back."
In the first series, Tom was desperate to make Sanditon as popular as Brighton, but disaster struck when a huge fire broke out. Fans were thrilled as they got a closer peek into the second series, where Tom didn't back down but in fact, was more determined to make his grand idea a reality.
